Gilda Ramirez

Dr. Gilda Ramirez is Executive Director for Grow Local South Texas. Dr. Ramírez has served as Vice President for Small Business and Education for the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce (2016-2020), Interim President/CEO for the Corpus Christi Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (2015-2016), director of the Antonio E. Garcia Arts & Education Center (2012-2014) and was employed at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi for 25 years. Ramírez’s education background includes a BA in Communication (1992) from Corpus Christi State University, a Master’s in Public Administration (1993) and Doctorate in Educational Leadership (2002), both from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMUCC). She currently serves on the board of Education to Employment Partners, the Corpus Christi Literacy Council, the Council for Alcohol and Drug Abuse-Coastal Bend, and various other community organizations.  Dr. Ramírez was appointed Commissioner for the Corpus Christi Housing Authority in August 2021.
